Common questions
Does an eSIM work in Samoa?
Yes. This eSIM runs on Digicel. Coverage is strongest around Apia and the main island of Upolu, and thinner across Savaii and the rural coast, and it covers Apia, Vaitele, Faleasiu, Leauvaa and Siusega. It can thin out only in very remote areas.
How much data do I need in Samoa?
Most travelers use around 1GB a day in Samoa across maps and messaging. A week is comfortable on 5GB to 7GB. Longer trips lean to 10GB or unlimited daily, and coverage naturally thins once you cross to Savaii or head inland.
Is the Samoa eSIM unlimited?
Our daily plans give you unlimited data at full speed each day. If you prefer a fixed amount, choose a prepaid plan from the 1GB to 20GB, or unlimited daily range above.
Will the Samoa eSIM work on my phone?
Yes, on any eSIM-compatible unlocked device, including iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and recent Samsung Galaxy models. It installs alongside your normal SIM, so nothing is removed.
When should I install my Samoa eSIM?
Install it before you fly, ideally the night before. Activation uses no data, so you are online the moment you land in Samoa.
Can I keep my number and use WhatsApp?
Yes. The Samoa eSIM adds data only, so your regular SIM keeps your number for calls and texts. Apps like Facebook Messenger work over the eSIM.
What happens when I use up the daily full-speed data?
On unlimited daily plans you are never cut off. After each day's full-speed allowance, data continues unlimited at a reduced speed until the day resets, enough for messages, email and maps anywhere in Samoa.
Can I hotspot to my laptop or travel partner?
Yes. Tethering works on our plans, so you can share the connection with a laptop or a travel partner in Samoa. Heavy hotspot use counts toward your daily full-speed data.
Is it too early to buy my Samoa eSIM?
It is never too early. Validity starts on your first connection in Samoa, not at purchase. Buy today, install whenever you like, and the plan sits ready until you land.
What if the eSIM does not work on my phone?
You are covered. Check the compatibility notes before buying, and if your eSIM will not connect and we cannot fix it, you get a full refund. Refunds are available any time until the eSIM is installed.
Pick your plan above, and we'll have you connected before you land.
Compatible with iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and recent Samsung Galaxy models. Data-only plan. No calls or SMS.

Got an eSIM here for my Japan trip after a friend recommended them, and I’m so glad I did. It was way cheaper than other options and worked with zero issues the whole time I was there. Super easy to set up, too. Definitely using them again next time I travel!
