After purchase you'll get a QR code by email, usually within minutes. Installation takes about two minutes. Here's exactly how, for iPhone and Android.
Install before you travel
Do it at home while you still have Wi-Fi, since installation needs an internet connection. Don't worry about wasting days: the plan only activates when it first connects to a network at your destination.
iPhone
1
Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service) → Add eSIM.
2
Choose Use QR Code and scan the code from your email.
3
Label the plan (e.g. "Travel") and keep your home line as primary for calls and texts.
4
When you land, turn on Data Roaming for the travel line and set it as your data line.
Android
1
Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM (or "Download a SIM instead").
2
Scan the QR code from your email.
3
Follow the prompts to download and save the plan.
4
On arrival, enable Roaming for the travel eSIM and select it for mobile data.
Menu names vary slightly by brand. On Samsung it's Settings → Connections → SIM manager.
When you land
Troubleshooting
The QR code won't scan
Open the email on another screen (a laptop or a friend's phone) and scan from there. Scanning the code from the same phone that's installing it won't work, because the camera needs to see it.
No signal after landing
Check that data roaming is on for the eSIM line, then restart your phone. If it still won't connect, pick the network manually: Settings → network selection → choose one of the carriers listed on your plan's product page.
I deleted the eSIM by mistake
A deleted eSIM usually can't be reinstalled with the same QR code. Contact us right away and we'll sort out a replacement.
